CFD Services

CFD is essentially a virtual wind tunnel, where different configurations of a car can be tested without ever having to build a physical model. Nearly all top tier motorsport teams use CFD, with it having significant dominance in Formula One.

Our CFD packages come in two main flavours; determining what your existing aero pack is doing, or designing a new aero kit for your car to maximise performance.

CFD Design

Considerable work has been performed on the validation and optimisation of our in house solver and computing cluster, reducing the cost to you. We offer higher tiers for more serious competitors, meaning additional aero development, improved details and more efficiency, with a corresponding increase in cost. The output of this is a 3D surface model of an aero kit that you can then manufacture for your car.

In addition to full car aero kits, we can perform CFD optimisation of single components, for example splitters, undertrays, wings and endplates. Contact us for a custom pricing for your application.

Please be mindful that CFD simulations are computationally intensive, and as such expect large lead times.

CFD Aero-mapping

JKF can analyse performance at different cornering conditions, looking at ride heights, yaw, pitch, roll and steer. The depth of investigation will depend on your budget, but can also go as far as testing the true cornering and the true braking condition, which are both conditions unable to be achieved in the wind tunnel.

We use this analysis to provide expected aero characteristics that you will see on track, and any potential issues you may encounter. No simulation is 100% accurate, however by going to the track prepared you will be able to reach optimal car setup quicker.

For aeromapping to be performed, we require either a CAD model of your car, or a 3D scan.
